Christian Mutualities (CM) have announced that, starting January 1, 2026, they will provide more financial support to young parents during their child's first 1.000 days. Under the CM Growth Budget, the amount will be increased to 1.300 euro per child in the first three years of life. At the same time, the annual contribution to the health fund will increase from €117,36 to €119,88.
The current system, in which parents can choose between a €340 bonus or a €360 Dreambaby voucher plus an €80 bonus at the birth of their child, is being replaced. Bart De Ruysscher, director of CM Flanders, explains: "Instead of giving something once at birth, we now offer our members financial bonuses at seven different points, until their child is three years old. And this for a much higher total than before. But even after the child's third birthday, we help with many major expenses, such as orthodontics and psychology."
The new benefits under the CM Growth Budget include a €30 voucher for folic acid during pregnancy, various voucher options, and bonuses at birth and during the child's first three years. Depending on the parents' choices, the gifts and bonuses can total €1.324, which is €884 more than the current amount.
In addition, CM also introduces compensation for psychological help for young children and adults. For children, reimbursement will be provided for 20 sessions per year, with a maximum of 50% of the costs. For adults, starting in 2026, reimbursement will be €20 per session for those without an increased reimbursement and up to €30 per session for those with an increased reimbursement. Furthermore, reimbursement will be introduced for psychodiagnostic tests to diagnose ASD and ADHD in young people, with CM reimbursing 35% of the costs, with a maximum of €350 per year.
