Tashkent, Uzbekistan, May 13, 2025 – Uzbekistan is set to launch a new asset-based token, HUMO, linked to government bonds. The project aims to develop innovative methods to attract foreign investment, increase transparency of financial transactions, and create a more attractive investment climate.
The HUMO token is backed by government bonds. This structure aims to ensure price stability and speculative volatility, which is often a major concern with tokenized instruments.
The project fully complies with the legal requirements of the Republic of Uzbekistan regarding the circulation of crypto assets. This lays the foundation for powerful financial innovation.
The project is being developed with the support of various domestic and international partners. HUMO, the payment system that serves more than 35 million card users and is widely integrated into the Uzbek banking and retail sector, forms the basis for this project. The extensive integration of HUMO with couches and sellers optimally positions the token for mass adoption.
The technical development is led by Asterium, a local crypto service provider, and Broxus, a blockchain infrastructure provider. The project is planned to be launched based on two technologies: EVM and TVM. The TVM technology chosen is the Tycho protocol, which supports high load, scalability and cost-effective transactions. This protocol is essential for future government applications.
The HUMO token aims to facilitate direct payments, reduce transaction costs and improve transparency by recording operations on a public blockchain. The project has the added benefit of limiting informal financial flows and increasing the efficiency of digital payments.
Alexey Maksimov, chairman of HUMO, sees the launch of this token as an important step towards building an innovative and modern financial infrastructure in Uzbekistan. The creation of this fully real-asset backed token will increase public trust, simplify transactions and accelerate the country's digital economy. Transparency and fraud prevention are key goals that are crucial in the current environment.
Komilkhuzha Sultonov, CEO of Asterium, calls the initiative a step towards integrating blockchain into everyday financial processes. “The HUMO token project lays the foundation for a new financial system. We create infrastructure solutions that integrate modern technology into everyday financial transactions, making interaction with crypto assets as easy as with traditional assets.”
Sergey Shashev, founder of Broxus, emphasizes the importance of scalable and secure infrastructure: “We are pleased that Broxus technology contributes to a project of great importance to the government. Our mission is to provide solutions that make digital transactions safe, accessible and transparent, and the Tycho blockchain can achieve that with high speed, low cost and the reliability that projects of this scale require.”
By linking to real assets, the HUMO token can serve as a basis for broader blockchain integration into Uzbekistan's financial system. In the future, the blockchain platform created within this project can form a foundation for the development of new digital services in the country.
The National Interbank Processing Center of Uzbekistan (the national payment system HUMO) is one of the most important financial infrastructures in Uzbekistan. Its main goal is to become a major financial hub not only in Central Asia but also beyond.
Since its inception, HUMO has shown steady growth, actively expanding its payment services ecosystem and strengthening both domestic and international partnerships.
