In a recent tweet from the Shibburn platform, which focuses on burning Shiba Inu coins, it was revealed that the burn rate of shib has seen a significant increase in the past 24 hours. While SHIB price is trying to recover after a sharp drop last Friday, the weekly burn figures are less encouraging than the daily ones.
In the said tweet, Shibburn noted that the community has burned over 9.062.019 SHIB coins since yesterday, resulting in an impressive 232,95% increase in burn rate. This result was achieved via seven transfers of SHIB to unavailable wallets, with the three largest transactions involving 4.527.734, 3.577.935, and 1.918.753 Shiba Inu coins respectively.
While the daily burn rate has seen a significant jump, the weekly numbers are much less rosy. This metric shows a decrease of 84,72%, with a total of 48.802.642 SHIB burned over the past seven days.
Earlier this week, SHIB’s marketing specialist, known as Lucie, shared a handy guide on her X account to the community on how to transfer non-fungible tokens (NFTs) between the Ethereum and Shibarium blockchains. This is now possible via the NFT Bridge on Shibarium.
The first step according to Lucie's instructions is to open the Shiba Inu Bridge page. After that, you need to connect your Ethereum wallet and make sure it is also linked to Ethereum.
Next, choose the NFT Bridge by clicking on “Bridge NFTs”, and select the token you want to send from Ethereum to Shibarium. Click on “Deposit” to start the transfer, and as a final step, you need to review the transaction details and confirm it in your Ethereum wallet.
After a 2,7% drop in Bitcoin price last Friday, caused by several factors such as a criminal investigation into Tether by the US government and recent negative developments in the Middle East, the second largest meme cryptocurrency, SHIB, followed with a decline of 5,23%. While Bitcoin recovered by less than 1%, Shiba Inu managed to limit its losses slightly more with an increase of 2,03%.
