Jay Yarow Appointed as President of Coindesk Insights, a new direction in the crypto media landscape

Jay Yarow Appointed as President of Coindesk Insights

Reading time: 2 minutes

Jay Yarow, a renowned industry professional with a rich background at CNBC and Business Insider, has been appointed President of CoinDesk Insights, the media and events division of digital asset platform Bullish. This appointment reflects Bullish's commitment to strengthening and expanding CoinDesk's position in the crypto media and events industry.

Yarow has worked at CNBC for the past nine years, where, as senior vice president and executive editor, he played a crucial role in developing the network's digital business model. He was involved in the launch of direct-to-consumer services such as CNBC Pro and the CNBC Investing Club. He also led the creation of CNBC Select, an affiliate content division, Bullish notes in a press release. Previously, Yarow was executive editor at Business Insider, where he led the editorial teams and content strategy.

Strengthening Media and Event Services

Yarow's appointment underscores Bullish's ambition to further expand its media, events, and information services for both institutional and private markets. Tom Farley, Chief Executive Officer Bullish, emphasized: “Jay is a critical addition to our leadership team as we continue to grow the CoinDesk business across our Media & Events, and Data & Indices segments.”

Farley adds that Yarow's expertise in digital growth and transformation, along with his proven track record of trusted editorial leadership, can further strengthen CoinDesk's brand identity as a leading source for news and events surrounding digital assets.

Yarow succeeds Sara Stratoberdha, who led CoinDesk after Bullish acquired crypto-focused investor Digital Currency Group (DCG) in an all-cash deal in late 2023. Stratoberdha will take on a new leadership role within Bullish.

Future Vision and Growth in a Competitive Market

Yarow will report to Tom Farley and aims to further expand CoinDesk's media and events business, serving both institutional and retail markets. "CoinDesk is the trusted name in digital asset information services," Yarow stated in his initial statement. "Following its acquisition by Bullish, CoinDesk has quickly become the global leader in crypto news, measured by views. I look forward to building on the strong foundation Sara Stratoberdha has established to deliver industry-leading events and media services globally."

Yarow's appointment comes just months after David LaValle, former global head of ETFs at Grayscale, became president of CoinDesk Indices and Data. This move illustrates Bullish's active entrepreneurial drive to expand its index and data business at a time when institutional investors are seeking reliable price benchmarks.
