Stephanie De Bruyne, currently CEO of identity app Itsme, is making a career switch to ING Belgium. She will be working within the sofa hold a position in the executive committee and be responsible for the large corporate segment. In addition, ING Belgium is in the process of reorganising the entire executive committee.
De Bruyne has led Itsme for almost half a decade. Before joining Itsme, she held positions at BNP Paribas Fortis and was at the helm of digital bank Aion (formerly Banca Monte Paschi Belgio). She was also an independent director at Bank Delen.
Under De Bruyne's leadership, Itsme has experienced significant growth. More than seven million Belgians have an Itsme account, which represents more than 80 percent of the active adult population. In 2023, the company behind the app posted its first profit, and it was also able to significantly improve its results last year.
In June, De Bruyne will return to the banking sector. ING Belgium is seeing more changes in the executive committee. Operational director Cédric Lebegge will be responsible for private customers, succeeding Sali Salieski who will fulfil this role at ING Group.
Jan Van Sande (responsible for private banking and asset management) and Saskia Bauters (head of sales for corporate clients) will also be appointed to the executive committee. Bauters will take charge of the entire Business Banking department.
Lucy Shenton will also join the executive committee. She has been responsible for the bank's Transformation Office and new banking platform since last month.
