Bitcoin has recently made an impressive comeback towards its all-time high, surpassing the $105.000 mark for the first time since January on Sunday. This marks a major development in the cryptocurrency space, with other top coins posting even bigger daily gains.
Currently, the leading cryptocurrency is trading at $105.414, up more than 2% on the day, while its price has risen by almost 30% over the past 25 days. At this price, Bitcoin is just 3% away from its all-time high of $108.786, which was reached on January 20, the day of the President’s inauguration.
It's not immediately clear what's driven this recent surge in Bitcoin, but it appears to reflect continued bullish sentiment among traders toward risk assets, especially as global trade has cooled somewhat under President Trump.
In addition, we also see a rise in other cryptocurrencies. XRP rose by almost 4% to $2,43, Ethereum (ETH) climbed by 3,5% to $2.563, and Solana made a jump of over 4% to around $175. What is most notable, however, is that Dogecoin is pushing all other currencies in the top 10 to the brink, rising almost 8% in the past day to a current price of $0,232.
Short-term traders are currently taking a beating from the broader rally, with $128 million in short positions liquidated, according to data from CoinGlass – part of the $192 million total liquidations.
It’s a fascinating time in the crypto space, with volatility looming, but also opportunities for the bold. If you thought crypto was only for the bravest of investors, the last few days may have given you some food for thought.
