After more than a week of sideways movements, Bitcoin (BTC) is finally flourishing again. On Tuesday, the world-famous digital currency recorded an impressive closing price of $106.830, a historic milestone. This naturally raises the question: are we on the eve of a new record high?
A significant factor behind the recent price increase is the strong inflow of capital into spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs). Data shows that these funds have registered a whopping inflow over the past five days. The icing on the cake was Monday, with an inflow of a whopping $667,4 million. That’s no small feat!
Companies are also showing a lot of interest in Bitcoin. Strategy (formerly known as MicroStrategy) bought no less than 12 BTC between May 18 and 7.390. The Japanese Metaplanet is also jumping on the bandwagon, with a purchase of 1.004 BTC, which further strengthens their position.
At the time of writing, Bitcoin is trading at $107.600. At this value, the coin is just over 1 percent below its January 2025 peak, when BTC reached a value of around $108.800. In the volatile world of crypto, that difference is negligible. The tension is palpable!
Crypto analyst Ali Martinez points out the signals that the price chart is giving. He believes that a breakout to new highs is only a matter of time. In a recent post, he shares his insights: as long as Bitcoin stays above $107.120, he sees plenty of opportunities for a further rise towards $110.000 or even beyond. Sounds promising, right?
